The seven feasts of Israel mentioned in Leviticus 23

Leviticus 23 outlines the regulations regarding the "Seven Feasts of Israel." Unlike national holidays, which are usually based on a significant event in a country's history, the feasts of Israel were established by God to commemorate future redemptive events that would take place in human history.

God instructed that there should be a set time for each feast, and these feasts were known as "God's appointed times" or "divine appointments." The feasts were designed to provide an opportunity for the Israelites to prepare themselves spiritually and to remind them of their dependence on God.

The seven feasts of Israel, with their symbolic meanings, are as follows:

Spring Feasts:

1) Passover - Jesus' crucifixion and suffering

2) Unleavened Bread - Jesus' burial in the tomb

3) Firstfruits - Jesus' resurrection

4) Pentecost - the coming of the Holy Spirit

Fall Feasts:

5) Trumpets - the second coming of Jesus

6) Atonement - the Great Tribulation and Israel's repentance

7) Tabernacles - the eternal kingdom

When Jesus carried out his salvific ministry during his time on Earth, he did so in strict accordance with Israel's festivals. He was crucified after the Passover meal, spent the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the tomb for three days, and rose on the day of Firstfruits. Then, exactly fifty days after his resurrection, the Pentecost event occurred.

...

One attribute of God that can be learned through Israel's festivals is that when God saves us, he does not do so haphazardly or without a plan. Instead, his plan of salvation is carried out within his absolute sovereignty and divine purpose, following the schedule that he had planned even before the creation of the world. This fact provides great comfort and assurance to believers in Jesus.

There is never a moment in human history when God's gaze is diverted, and there is no such thing as a coincidence or an event that happens by chance without God's permission. When we know this truth, we can trust the God of sovereignty and follow Jesus in reverence.

The spring festivals in Israel, including the Passover and Firstfruits, occurred in a very short span of time with Jesus' coming. In the future, the fall festivals will also be accomplished in the blink of an eye with Jesus' second coming.

Brothers and sisters, you are not in darkness, so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. (1 Thessalonians 5:4-5)

However, for the children of God who walk with Jesus every day and dwell in his presence, his return will not come as a thief. The reason is that they always see the face of Jesus in faith and live as children of the light.

...

The return of Jesus is very near. The surest way to prepare for his coming is to have a clear assurance of salvation every day, live intimately with Jesus in his grace and presence, and walk with him every day.

Knowing that my entire life is accurately placed on God's schedule before the creation of the world gives me great peace and rest. Even the smallest events in my life never escape God's attention, and this great truth makes today a special day.

Today, I will go to Trinity University with my wife to pray and walk on the land while praying the Joshua prayer.

<Prayer>

Loving Lord, I praise You, the sovereign God who chose and called me before the foundation of the world, and who leads me according to Your timetable. You know even the number of hairs on my head, and I am grateful that nothing that happens to me is by chance. I am thankful that every word that comes from my lips, every thought that arises in my heart and mind, takes place under the watchful gaze of Your love. It is such a comfort and encouragement to know that even my mistakes and failures are encompassed within Your timetable. Today, I walk in faith within Your good plan and will, and I ask that You make this a day of dwelling within Your loving presence. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
