Grace flows to a low place (Isaiah 41)
The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs. (Isa41:17-18)
A stream of God's grace flows to a low place.
It flows into hearts of the poor, needy and thirsty, so as to stay in their eager souls. The water overflows to become a river and makes springs within valley. And it changed the wilderness to pools of water and the dry land to water sources.
This is the way how God's grace overflows to all over the world.
God's grace never stay in arrogant and proud hearts. Even though God gives grace to them, they can't enjoy even a drop of it.
I understand why Jesus said that the poor in spirit and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness were blessed in 8 blessings in the summon on the mountain.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Mt5:3,6)
I want to get humble heart and live with a poor heart. I'm grateful to recognize that the hunger for word of righteousness and the eagerness for God's grace are amazing gifts for me. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
My dear lord, I'm always thirsty and expect your words eagarly. Please let this thirsty stay in my heart. Let me long for your grace continually in order for this thirsty not to be away from me. As David prayed, I also pray that your are my only hope and I can't live without you. I know well Im not able to be happy apart from you. Fill the living water of grace in my life and make my life fountain of grace flowing to the world. And I hope to be spring-maker who gives spring of grace to another. I prayed in Jesus' name. Amen!
